The annual student paper competition will be held during the 2008 NWAC.  Two prizes will be awarded, one for the best undergraduate paper, and one for the best graduate paper.  The paper does not need to include new data but does need to be an original and substantive contribution to any sub-discipline of anthropology.  Paper titles and abstracts are due on January 31st 2008, completed papers are due on February 29th 2008.  

The papers must follow the following guidelines:
•    The paper must not exceed 12 double space pages in length, 12 point font, with a minimum inch margin on all sides.
•    All pages must be numbered.
•    The written paper must be presented in American Anthropologist or American Antiquity style.
•    Presentation of the material in the paper at the conference by the author is required.
•    Each paper must have a faculty sponsor whose name is indicated on the title page.
•    No unfinished or draft papers will be accepted.
•    Titles and abstracts must be submitted as per the guidelines listed below under “Call for Papers and Posters”.
